Before Endodontic Treatment
Your endodontic procedure will be performed under local anesthesia. In most cases, there are no restrictions following the treatment; you may drive and return to work as normal. A doctor is always available for consultation if any issues arise after your procedure.
Medications
Please continue taking all prescribed medications for conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorders, or others as directed by your physician. If you have any questions about your medications or are unsure whether to continue them, contact our office before your appointment.
Diet
Be sure to eat a full breakfast or lunch prior to your procedure, depending on the time of your appointment.

Antibiotic Premedication
- Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP)
- Heart Murmur
- Rheumatic Heart Disease
- Hip, Knee, Cardiac, or Other Prosthetic Devices
Anti-Inflammatory Medication
If you are able to take over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen sodium (Aleve), we recommend taking 2 tablets of either medication 2 to 4 hours before your endodontic treatment. This may help reduce post-operative inflammation.
If you have any questions or concerns before your appointment, please don’t hesitate to call our office.
